Thank You Rebecca Algar! For a year now, we have been periodically flying in the amazing Rebecca to our place to work on advancing our riding and training knowledge. Her lessons have been invaluable to us and our horses. We will be forever grateful for her willingness to work with us, and have dearly enjoyed getting to know her better and be able to truly consider her a great friend as well as coach! Here's to much more time together in the New Year! December, 2023
2023 International Andalusian & Lusitano Horse Association National Championship Show, Fort Worth, TX. The IALHA National Championship show marks the end of our show season. We can’t say enough about how proud we are of all the show horses! They each peaked at just the right moment and gave us their all! Why is competition great? It has nothing to do with winning... (well maybe a little to do winning.) But we have found in order to be a great competitor you have to be big enough to play the game. Sometimes we win and sometimes we lose. But being able to share it, to cheer someone on, to watch horses and people grow, and helping someone if you can is also a very important part of the journey. Congratulations to All the competitors...whether you are from our barn or not, you all deserved what you earned! We will see you again next year! November 7 - 11, 2023
USAWE Working Equitation Central Zone Championship Show, Elkhorn, WI. What a superb show! Professional, organized and fun! Thank you to the Central Zone planning committee on such a great event. We had a blast. A huge Congratulations goes out two of our students... Sandy Klinkey and Jill Rockwell, two of the “Life is Good” team, earned Overall Championships this weekend at the 2023 Central Zone Championship show, Sandy in Introductory Amateur and Jill in Novice A Amateur! Their hard work and dedication to learning and improving was so evident with their rides this weekend. Howard and I are very happy and proud to have been a part of their journey! Here is how we did: Nochero and Howard, Novice B Open Reserve Champions Lena and Erica, Novice A Open Third Place, and 4th Place Overall in the Cattle Phase (3 out of the 4 riders on her team penned their cows...What Teamwork!!) Macario and Howard, Introductory Open Reserve Champions Kicking Bird and Howard, Introductory Open Fourth Place Daisy and Howard, Introductory Open Fifth Place Faraona and Janita, Introductory Amateur, Seventh Place September 28 - October 1, 2023
Kemp Horsemanship Working Equitation Show, hosted by Horse First Farm, Brooklyn, WI. Thank you to Emily Kemp and Horse First Farm for another great show! We used this as our final check to see what last minute adjustments we need to make before the Central Zone Championships at the end of the month. Erica also took advantage of participating in the cattle phase to get a feel for Lena on cows. Feeling good about where everyone is at! September 9, 2023
Loads of fun putting on a Unicorn Birthday Party! This was a first here at Peet Equestrian, but most definitely worth it to see the joy it brought to the birthday girl's face! We are happy to have been able to help Janita and Kinsey make this event one to remember. The horses were champs...Adonia the unicorn, Daisy the driving pegasus, and Fara the pony ride mount. September 1, 2023
ERAHC A/L Regional Championship Show, Lexington, VA. Thank you ERAHC for your dedication to offer this show, and to your efforts to find new ways to make the show have additional value to attendees. We were happy to see many familiar faces and to meet new members at the event! We are hopeful that this year's efforts increase the interest and participation for the future! August 26 - 27, 2023
Eastern Regional Andalusian Horse Club Educational Symposium, Lexington, VA. Howard and I were honored for the invitation by ERAHC to be included in the wonderful list of clinicians alongside Felicitas von Neumann-Cosel, Carlos Carneiro, Bruno Gonzalez and Tina Veder, for their Educational Symposium! This event is a great example of what is needed to help spark the interest of newcomers to our shows. We had so many great questions from the auditors! We hope that it helps them to feel like being ready for a show is a strong possibility for the future! Thank you Michael and Jody Sydow, owners of Sirena- the grooming demo horse, and to Janita and Bill Smith, owners of Macario- the in-hand demo horse. Having good models really helped us get our information demonstrated well. August 25, 2023
Have we mentioned that we love our driving horses?! For those of you that do not know us yet, we love to drive. If we have our way we teach every horse to pull a cart. In our experience 99% of horses love to drive, and it is a wonderful way to develop their muscles and minds in a very relaxed and nature manner. Here is our driving string for this year...
Inaugural Idaho Working Equitation Camp and Cup a resounding success! What do you get when a handful of excited WE enthusiasts decide to grow the sport in their region?? You get the Team Idaho Working Equitation Camp and Cup, held at the Idaho City Cowboy Campground! This event brought together 5 clinicians, who worked with about 30 participants over two days to improve their knowledge of the sport. Howard and I were honored to be asked to teach at this event by Rachel Stout, along side Trisha Reed of Montana, Conny Mertens of Germany, and Mary Kimball of Idaho! That was followed by two days of showing with 26 riders per show! And I have to say, this show had to be the funnest experience that I have had as a judge. The large entry numbers kept all the officials and volunteers on their toes, but what a well oiled machine this team was!! And by day two we really hit our stride and we were able to finish just a bit ahead of schedule. A huge thank you to: TD, Dawn Swenson, your support through course changes and rule questions was invaluable! Scribe: Jill Mahdessian: my super experienced scribe and occasional mother hen kept me on target. Kim Shinn: your management of the grounds, the volunteers, and the schedule was spot on! Camp host: Sabrina Amidon: your camp is so cool and your cooking and hostess skills are the mostest!! Secretary: Kaitlin Draper, well done keeping track of such a big show! Glenda Nelson: for arranging such nice lodging for our group! We really enjoyed the togetherness it created! And gate crew Terri and Rose- Long hot days but you were so upbeat and attentive to the participants! So many other volunteers made this event possible and I am sorry not to mention you all by name but know that what you all did to help this event was deeply appreciated! Conny, I was glad to have you shadowing me, to help you on your path to getting a license here in the U.S., I just wish we could have had more time to truly talk shop together! July 19 - 23, 2023
Fox Valley Saddle Association July Working Equitation Shows, Hampshire, IL. Another great show in preparation for the Central Zone Championships this fall. Nearly all our horses are qualified now. It was great to see everyone and cheer on all the riders! July 1 - 2, 2023

Great competition, learning new things, making new friends, and celebrating the achievements of this young horse with his wonderful owners...All Priceless!! Three classes... Collective Roots Working Equitation Schooling Show and Rated Show, Cochranville, PA. I had a great time in Cochranville, PA this past weekend, judging a Working Equitation schooling show on Saturday and a licensed show on Sunday. Both days had wonderful riders…they sure are learning it right! It was also fun to see a number of Andalusian and Lusitano folks who I have not seen in quite some time- Mindy, Nicole, and Heather. Thank you to Susan Felicia for bringing me in for your event, to Jeanne Bond for your fabulous work as the TD on Sunday, to Dani for scribing Sunday, to Collective Dressage for hosting the event at your beautiful facility, and to the many others who made it possible for the two days to run smoothly- the 2 Patricias, Kathryn, Gail, Hilary, and anyone else I forgot to mention! June 3-4, 2023
Working Equitation Clinic and Schooling Show at Easton Meadows, Greenwich, NY This weekend I spent time with Bruce and Pam Menke at their beautiful property, Easton Meadows, doing a Working Equitation clinic and schooling show. We had a small but enthusiastic group both days, some experienced, some newcomers. Bruce and I taught the clinic together on Saturday, and Sunday I judged the schooling show followed by giving feedback to the participants. This was my first time doing a WE event in this region, and what a great way to get to know WE enthusiasts on the east coast! I look forward to judging two rated shows this year on the east coast, June 3-4 in Pennsylvania, and July 8-9 in New Jersey! -Erica May 20 - 21, 2023
Fox Valley Saddle Association May Working Equitation Shows Our first Working Equitation show of the year is done and dusted! Despite the crumby weather, our ponies gave us their all and we are very proud of each of them. My new partner of the year, Lena, put out a stellar performance. We had just a few weeks to get ready, so chose to keep it simple at Intro. I have made many changes to her work in that short time, and wanted to us to have better communication and ensure she was better balanced in the canter before stepping out in Novice. I feel we are well on our way! She is such a doll! I feel very lucky to have Becky trust us with her! It was so good to see our Region 5 WE friends and meet new folks to our group! The show was supported by riders from Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Michigan! Thanks to all that work so hard to put on this show- FVSA President- Sandy Klinkey, Show secretary-Julie Alonzo, Judge- Tracy Erway, TD- Kristine Strausberger, gate steward- Sharon Kinney, gate steward and scribe- Stephanie Kame, scribe- Diana, ground crew- Neil, awards sponsor- Christine Righeimer, and to the facility- Fox Valley Saddle Association! Looking forward to doing it again in July!! May 13 - 14, 2023
Working Equitation Clinic in Ohio It’s hard to believe that it is only April with all the great events we have done so far this year. The Working Equitation clinic that we taught this weekend in Ohio with Emily Gill and crew was definitely an enjoyable one! April 8 - 9, 2023
Portugal! Taking time to advance our knowledge and the bonus of a Working Eq show! Thank you to Martim Cunha and Pedro Philippe da Costa for our amazing lessons. Thank you Alexandre Dorey and Martim for the informative Young Horse masterclass, and Martin for the Working Equitation master class that you presented to us. We walked away from this trip with so much great insight and such a better feel for the movements! Especially having had ridden your school masters followed by the “youngsters”, which allowed us to feel the difference in the well established movement versus the movement that the horse was still not 100% clear or comfortable with. “Respect your figures always, they are your friends” “Try to match your horse’s character” “Horses are smart but riders are intelligent” “Think of alignment vs straightness” Obrigada Morgado Lusitano for your warm hospitality, knowledgeable instructors, wonderful variety of school horses, and delicious meals! We could not have felt more welcome, or hoped to learn more in our very short visit! ‘Til we meet again! March 31 - April 4, 2023
Pedro Torres Clinic hosted by the US Lusitano Conference Today we had the pleasure of being able to watch Pedro Torres school riders and horses during the US Lusitano Conference. At the start of our introduction to Working Equitation, Pedro was the top of the top. He and Oxidado were the videos that popped up first on YouTube when you googled Working Equitation. When watching him one would hope that maybe one day we could ride as beautifully and skillfully as he does. Today we got to watch up close and in person his warm ups, learn his philosophy, experience his joy, and once again be reminded of the type of rider that we strive to be. What an experience! Feb. 6, 2023

2022 IALHA National Championship Show, full of great competition and one special surprise! 2022 marked our 18th year at the IALHA National show. It's hard to believe that we have been there that many times, time sure has flown by! We are very proud of the 8 horses we took, especially in the amateur divisions. It is so nice to see the horses respond so well to their owners and other handlers they don't necessarily know. The icing on the cake this year was having Peet Equestrian recognized as the recipient of the Impact Award, Professional. Check out our Special Awards page to learn more about the Impact Award.
Peet Equestrian hosts Working Equitation Ride a Test clinic and Schooling Show with "S" Judge, Rebecca Algar. Oct. 22-23 With the loss of the USAWE Zone Championship Show, we decided to fill the weekend with an event. So to encourage the seasoned riders to keep learning, and the newbies to come check out the sport of WE, this last minute event was created. Thank you to Rebecca Algar who gave all of us her knowledge and time!
Spreading the love of the Andalusian by participating in a special horse event! Oct. 1, 2022 We were approached by the IALHA Education Association (IEA), about supporting a new horse event in McHenry, IL, by bringing out one of the Andalusians from our barn. The Meet The Breed event was put on by R Double J Ranch, and was intended to educate and get locals excited about horses. It was decided that the event would be a great place for the IEA to spread knowledge about the Andalusian horse. We decided to use SFA Malagro, of SF Andalusians, for the event. He was such a star! He had never done anything like this before, but he was perfectly suited to it. He visited with humans of every age and reinforced what makes the Andalusian so special, which is their amazing temperament! In addition to being the Andalusian representative, he was also used to represent the discipline of Driving, thus teaching viewers one of the many ways that horses can be enjoyed. It has been YEARS since we last did an event like this, and it was a really nice addition to our year! We are so happy that we could be a part of it.
Doug Jordan Cattle Clinic! Aug. 25-26 Erica and Malagro took advantage to continue to learn cow working skills from the ever so knowledgeable (and super friendly) Doug Jordan! Erica and Howard rode with him in 2021, and really appreciated Doug's teaching style and willingness to work with non-western riders. This year's focus was more geared towards riding proper lines to affect the cow's direction, speed control, and acceptance of aids.
Baroque Horse of the Midwest A/L Regional Championship Show. Aug. 5-7 We love supporting our local regional championship show! It always has such a nice atmosphere, and now with the new covered arena to exhibit in, it is especially nice. The horses did great and we feel that they are all on the right track to be ready for Nationals in Novemeber.
Riding Clinic with Nicole Chastain-Price! July 30-31, hosted by Peet Equestrian It can never be said enough...Never Stop Learning! While the turnout for this clinic was light, the education was endless for all involved! What an eye and depth of knowledge Nicole possesses and her willingness to hep every level of rider comes shining through.
Amazing times at the 2022 Cross National Camp and Cup at the Big Sky Horse Park, in Missoula, MT! July 10-17, 2022 In years past we have participated at the CNCs by donating our time as instructors. This year Howard donated his time to instruct some groups, but we also made it a point to attend with horses and be a part of the Camp and Cup as participants! So we loaded 5 horses on the trailer and hit the road. Malagro, Fara, Fin, Melosa, and Nochero made the trip. Once there we were joined by Janita... and Becky, who came out to participate on a borrowed horse! What a fun time! The Camp was great, there were instructors from all over- Australia, Canada, Germany, and about every corner of the US! And whether you were riding with an instructor, or watching from the sidelines you were bound to learn something! And one can't say enough about the camaraderie, the socializing, and the cheering on done by all during the Cup!
Partnering up with Mandt Equestrian Center to put on a WE Schooling Show! June 18, 2022 A huge thank you goes out to Becky Shervan who coordinated this event! We are so glad that we could help to expose a group of newbies to the WE show ring! We hope to see you all in the future!
Ride-A-Test clinic at Beomor Farm! June 3-4, 2022 Thank you Beomor Farm for having us as clinicians! It was a great turn out...8 riders for Dressage day and 12 for EOH day. We did ride-a-tests with feedback and instruction for both phases. Such an enthusiastic group!
Weekend Driving Fun with Bravata and Friends! May 7, 2022 Our Working Equitation friends from Michigan were in town and wanted to experience a bit of a day at Peet Equestrian. So we did a bit of driving. This was Bravata's first time pulling the gig, and her first time being a driving lesson horse! We are thrilled with how she did, and are so happy that we could share driving with some first timers!
Teaching at Rach Ranch in Michigan! April 9-10, 2022 Michigan riders rock! They are so dedicated to their riding, and are such a fun bunch to be around! It is especially nice to see the progress in the youth riders! As always, thank you for having us, and keep up the good work!
Impromptu Mini-WE Clinic! March 12-13, 2022 A great weekend of teaching during a bit of an impromptu mini clinic. Sandy, Christine and Mary worked on improving EOH skills and rode tests both days. Lisa, Pam and Rochelle were new to the sport, so we spent time introducing them to the obstacles and basic rules, then had them ride a course. Such great questions and enthusiasm by all!
Our first WE clinic of 2022, hosted by Mandt Equestrian Center! Feb. 20, 2022, Oregon, WI What a great turnout despite the cold weather! We had 13 riders in total and a handful of auditors. The morning session was devoted to education of the importance of the EOH walk through and how to make it work for the rider, followed by practice on the obstacles. During the afternoon session the participants then put it all together and rode a full EOH course, with coaching and judge feedback. It was great fun and we met wonderful people who we hope to see at shows in the future. Thank you all for participating! And thank you to Becky Shervan for organizing the event!

2021 IALHA National Championship Show! It was great to be back!! The cancellation of the 2020 championship show due to the pandemic was a bummer for sure. But we were so happy with the return of the show in 2021. And what a fun time it was. I must admit that I don't think I have seen such an upbeat, friendly, and supportive environment at this show in a very long time. We took a string of 8 horses, and they all did very well, especially the youngsters that we had. Congratulations to all of our clients, and thank you once again for allowing us to be a part of you and your horse's lives.
USAWE Region 5 Championship Working Equitation Show, Hoosier Horse Park, Nineveh, IN, October 23 - 24, 2021 What an exciting acheivement for our region! The show committee did a fabulous job of organizing a wonderful event, full of fun, friends, great competition, and supportive sponsors! Peet Equestrian was happy to sponsor the use of all the obstacles and sponsored 2 awards: Best Dressed Western attire and Best Dressed English attire. We were very happy to be a part of it. 7 horses went to the show from the Peet Equestrian barn. Here is how we all did: Novice A Open: Champion, Aviva of Whisper Way Farm and Howard Peet Intro Open: Reserve Champion, Nochero and Howard Peet Intro Open: 3rd place: Bolero BP and Howard Peet Novice B Open: Reserve Champion, Jubiloso Del C and Erica Peet Intermediate A Open: 3rd place: SM Serafin and Howard Peet Intro Amateur: 8th place, Faraona ROY and Janita Smith- thrilled considering this is their second time in public together! CDC Pacifica also went, but she competed in the b-rated show, not in the Championship show.
Learning how to work cattle with Hall of Famer, Doug Jordan, and our first official Cow phase during the WE show! July 22-23, 2021, hosted by Horse First Farm, Brooklyn, WI What an opportunity! Howard rode Serafin and Erica rode Malagro during this cattle clinic with Doug Jordan. The great thing about this clinic was that it was geared towards teaching WE folks how to be ready for the cow phase of Working Equitation! We learned how to allow our horses to follow the cow, how to direct the cow, and how to work as a team. We just might get addicted to this cattle stuff! It was really fun to have the owners of the cattle comment on their positive impression of how Andalusians respond to cows....but it's in their DNA, of course they took to it! Following the clinic was the Kemp WE Show, which included the cow phase. Erica and Malagro competed, and even though it took to the very last second, they did pen their cow!

Erica was happy to step in as the replacement judge so that Illinois could have a show given the restrictions that have limited events due to the pandemic. Howard and Janita were happy to ride their horses as schooling rides to avoid any conflicts of interest. Thank you to Julie for managing the show, to Emily for scribing and scoring, and to Sandy for managing things on Fox Valley's end.

Thank you to Stephani Kame for all the work she did to organize this event. Erica looks forward to returning in July to judge your first official rated show!
Surviving During a Pandemic We would like to thank our clients for sticking it out with us during the pandemic. We feel so fortunate to have work during a time when many do not. Times are uncertain and many events have been postponed or cancelled due to the attempts to slow the curve, but here's to keeping positive and safe, and to continuing to work as if we still have events on the horizon. April, 2020
Peet Equestrian's WE Play Day February 15, 2020. There were a lot of determined riders at our facility today! Today's group consisted of a mix of long time competitors and some first timers. The continued growth of this sport is amazing and we are so proud to be a part of it. Thanks to all for coming out!
2020 marks our 10 year anniversary!
RHF Leia wins USEF 2019 A/L Grand Champion Horse of the Year!! What a year Leia had. Riding, driving, halter, sport horse in-hand. You name it she did it. And she did it all very well! Congratulations to owners Janita and Bill Smith of SF Andalusians for the successes of not only Leia, but SM Serafin, who also came home with some USEF awards.
Team Great Lakes, Going the Distance, Literally!! October 11 - 13, 2019 What does 1 great big trailer and a bunch of Working Equitation enthusiasts equal? ROAD TRIP!! Peet Equestrian and SF Andalusians was happy to open the horse trailer to horses/riders in our region that qualified to ride at the WE United North American Championship Show, held in San Diego, CA. 2 additional horses came along with 3 from our barn to compete at this prestigious event- Becky Shervan (WI) with Lena, and Katie Guscar (MI) with Gospel Lyric owned by Alex Tyson. Katie's mom, Erica's mom, and Janita Smith also came out to cheer on the group and enjoy the event.
WE United B-rated Shows at Fox Valley Saddle Association, May 11-12, 2019 Spring has sprung and that means horse shows! These WE shows were our first shows of the year. One show each day. We took 6 horses, 4 of which have not show at a WE show before. They all did fantastic jobs, we are thrilled with each of them. We earned qualifying scores on all 6 horses, so that we can attend the WE United Championship Show in San Diego in October! We are excited to see their improvement as we continue to show and train through the year!
A Bunch of Firsts Winter and Spring may be the down time for shows but here at Peet Equestrian, we kept busy. We had a group of young ones that had their first ride, their first hook, and their first time working obstacles. The obstacles have been a great addition to our Colt handling program.
A Little Winter Fun! Yes, winter can be rough here in Illinois, but every now and again it gives us nice enough days to get out and play a little. From pulling out the sleigh, going for a nice ride, or doing some photo shoots, the snow can actually be very good.
Jubiloso Del C - 2018 USEF A/L Driving Horse Reserve Champion!!! This horse!! He is the most amazing driving horse! Anyone can drive him. He has been a teacher to many a student over the years. He just settles right in, ignores the little mistakes, and works like it doesn't take anything to do it. We are so proud to own such a fantastic partner! This moment was made possible by; -Barbara and Mel Currie of Oak Hill, who gave us this wonderful boy when he was a rambunctious two year old. -Sheilah Melsness, who showed him throughout the year. Thank You!!
2018 IALHA National Championship Show and FPSH US Open Celebration October 9 - 14, 2018, Katy, Texas. What a fun show! The IALHA has made some great changes, and to have the FPSH involved too...super!! Congratulations to all of our clients. Your horses were fantastic. But now, a huge Thank You to Sheilah for taking a chance with our boy Jubiloso! You two did great driving together this year, and it all culminated to this moment- You won your National Championship Driving title! We are so proud! To see the two of you grow together was so rewarding. Then, to top it off, Howard rode in Dressage Suitability with "J", and got Reserve National Champion! We have NEVER shown our own horse at a National level competition. This means so much to us! Erica even got to play, she entered the Drive to Ride Opportunity class, kind of last minute. It was her favorite moment of the show. Jubiloso was such a good boy, and now that we are clear about the rules....watch out for next time!
Michigan Working Equitation B-rated show judged by Kim Peterson. September 8 - 9, 2018, hosted by Rach Riding Academy, Milford, Michigan. Michigan's first rated show!! We were very happy to support it. Howard rode Rocky and Erica rode Serafin, both in Intermediate A level.

Cross Nation WE Camp July 8 - 12, 2018, Eugene, Oregon, Hosted at the Prairie Arena. We were so fortunate to have taught at this inaugural event! It brought together WE enthusiasts from all around the world! Instructors and riders from Canada, New Zealand, Australia, and the US, it was amazing. The camp consisted of multiple sessions each day- Dressage fundamentals, Obstacle work, In-hand work, Body awareness and balance work, and mini-clinics on improving flying changes. Everyone had lunch and dinner together at the facility each day. And the evenings consisted of the Building Bridges session presented by Us. We really enjoyed teaching all of our groups. The only thing better, would have been to have ridden in it as well.

2014 IALHA National Championship Horse Show October As always, we love to finish out the year by attending the International Andalusian and Lusitano Horse Association National Show! This year was one to remember for so many reasons. First, the show was dedicated to Howard's mentor and friend Bruce Howard. They honored Bruce with a beautiful artwork and plaque, and had a barn party to celebrate the occasion. Second, this is the last year that the National Show will be held in Fort Worth at the Will Rogers Center. We have so many fond memories of people and horses that have been in our lives because of this place! Third, Erica was awarded the IALHA Horsewoman of the Year Award for her accomplishments and contributions to the association and the breed. And lastly, we just always have a good time! Its when we get to meet up with people we only see once a year, we show off all the hard work we have put into our horses, and we celebrate eachother's accomplishments! A huge thanks to all our clients, without you there is no us!

Working Equitation Judging Seminar- Eugene, OR Sept. 3-7 In an effort to better educate ourselves about the growing sport of Working Equitation, Erica attended the Judging Seminar. She sat in as an auditor to learn as much as she could from the clinician, Claudia Elsnor Matos of Portugal. Claudia spent 3 days lecturing, showing video clips, and testing the judge prospects that attended to get licensed as Working Eq. judges. It was a very informative seminar, and Erica came home with a much deeper understanding of the discipline and how it should be done. In addition to the seminar, there was also a riding clinic being presented by Jorge de Sousa. He worked with a number of riders on how to improve their dressage phase tests, and how best to work on improving certain obstacles. Erica watched the clinic as much as she could and picked up some really good pointers. In all, this was time VERY well spent and we highly recommend it to anyone who wants to truly understand Working Equitation!

Its show time again and we will be heading off to the LA Equestrian Center for the Rainbow Royal Show March 2-4! Come out and watch everyone's amazing horses strut their stuff! Feb. 27, 2012
Seeing as it is the first of the year and people are begining to breed their mares, we would like to remind people of the wonderful stallions standing at Peet Equestrain. Look for them on our Stallion page as we update it! Jocoso XXI. He is our newcomer. He was bred by Yeguada Romero Benitez in Spain and was just recently imported to the US. His bloodlines include those of Yeguada Romero Benitez and Yeguada Militar. He is a beautiful, kind, powerful moving stallion who passes on these traits to his offspring. Some of his offspring have also gone on the become Qualified in Spain. Barquillero LXIV. He was imported from Spain as a yearling from Yeguada Del Hierro Del Angel. He is the grandson of Jocoso XXI. He was IALHA Reserve National Champion 2 Year Old Colt in 2010. Barquillero is a beautiful example of what a spanish stallion should be. He is a big mover with lift and extention. And if temperment is important to you, it does not come any better then him. We are excited to see his first foal crop, due this spring! As De Copas. "As" was the top winning horse in our barn last year! He won Dressage Sport Horse Stallion in Vegas at the Foundation Celebration show. He won Jr Stallion, Best Movement Horse, and Show Pleasure Driving at IALHA Nationals! He will also be remembered by some, for the driving exhibitions he did, such as at the City of Industry ANNCE show. He has proved himself as a movement horse and we see no reason that his offspring will not get this talent as well. He is an eye catcher, everyone who sees him loves him! Osado. The youngster of the group but just as special! Osado was the IALHA National Champion Spanish Two Year Old Colt, and the Grand National Champion Two Year Old Colt with the best movement metal! He is an amazing mover as well and has all the spirit you could ask for! We would also like to mention last years stallions, who are no longer with us but are deserving of being your mares next match as well! Ladino GF. National Champion Senior Stallion at IALHA Nationals and the Foundation Celebration Show. Utillero SF. National Champion Country Pleasure driving horse and Reserve Champion Movement horse. First off, we had a super time showing off Martys to owner Janita, who flew in for a few days to see Martys pull the cart for the first time. While here Janita also made a new purchase and now owns the filly, Luna SA, bred by Saul's Andalusians. Watch out everyone, she can MOVE!! Then we welcomed in the first foal, out of Alba De Fraile, a bouncing baby boy! And just this week we started Osado, Champion 2 year old colt, under saddle and he is doing fantastic. January 15, 2012

With October approaching we are gearing up for our final show of the year, the IALHA National Championship & Charity Horse Show. In addition to their normal schedule they have also included an ANCCE sanctioned show, which we will also participate in! Throughout the show they will have their clinic series. On saturday evening the Extravaganza, Live Auction and Catalog Sale will held. Also this year, the show has begun a Charity to benefit the United States Para Equestrian Association! It sounds to be a great show and has a lot of support which should bring in the largest number of entries for a show this year! We can't wait to get there, show, hang out with a bunch of great clients and friends we have not seen in some time, and support our fabulous breed! Sept. 28, 2011

The last two months have been a blur! We have been keeping busy getting our show strings ready for the big shows of the year. Lots of halter horses! Last month the property was finished and now all of the arenas have great sand footing. This month 7 more stalls were built. We helped sell some horses. We continue to meet new people and love to have visitors! And best of all, we are looking forward to our first show, Regionals! July 16, 2011
Clinic Update! Kristi will put on a 45 minute dressage sport horse in-hand demo, in additon to the rides. It will start the day off at 1:00. Auditors are welcome to come learn more about this fabulous class. There will be a small auditor fee of $20. Please give us a call if you would like to attend so we can plan ahead for the number of people to expect.
We are all settled in and in full swing! We now have 10 horses in training and look forward to a few more. In the last week we have started our halter horses, started a horse under saddle, met a bunch of great new people, worked on finishing the property, and continued work with the horses we already had! Wow, and its only been 2 weeks! A huge thanks to Saul and Sandra for helping us to get settled here! Also thanks to Celia and Alan for helping us to get here! March 2, 2011
The date is set, we are off to California on Feb. 14! Peet Equestrian will be up and running by the 16th. Our contact number and email address will remain the same. We look forward to our new home and expanding our business! Feb. 9, 2011
Just got back from California and what a trip. The biggest surprise was an opportunity offered to us by Saul and Sandra, who asked us to move our operation to California. They have a wonderful property and wanted for us to have the chance to use it. So after a little consideration, Peet Equestrian has decided to relocate our business to Mira Loma, CA. The property has 18 covered stalls, 5 paddocks, 1 indoor arena, 1 outdoor arena, and 1 top of the line hot walker. We also have set in motion to have a full sized dressage arena and round pen put in. And on top of that, our current clients are also on board and ready to send their horses to CA, thanks Celia and Janita. Thanks also to Saul and Sandra for the fabulous weekend. They introduced us to a bunch of great horse people, shared their home with us, and took us to see Cavalia. What a show! So, we are very excited to head to horse country where our business can truly grow. We should be moved out within the next two to three weeks. Please give us a call if interested in training with us. Jan. 25, 2011
HAPPY NEW YEAR!! As Peet Equestrian starts the New Year off, we have looked back on 2010. Wow is all that we can really say. We made it. It wasn't always easy but it was definatly worth it! The year brought us in contact with so many great people and we handled a bunch of really great horses. Thanks to everyone, in your own ways you each played a part in our success. 2011 looks to be just as good. We head off to California January 21-23 to look over some horses and see our friends again. Also in store this year, we have begun working with a fabulous dressage instructor, Kristi Wysocki from Colorado. She was introduced to us by the Nickersons of Snowy Peaks Ranch. We are excited to continue progressing with Ladino and Lativo of Silver Star Ranch and look forward to working with the newbies. We welcome any inquiries about training this year, but space is limited so first come first serve. Jan. 6, 2011
Back from Nationals and what a show! We had such a great time. The show committee did a fantastic job. And the extraveganza was great too, we have never seen so many people come out to the stalls to see the horses afterwards! For our first time out as Peet Equestrian we couldn't be more pleased with our horses! All together we earned 3 Grand National Titles, and 5 Reserve National Titles. Howard was also honored as the Professional Horseman of the Year! A huge thank you goes out to our clients Saul and Sandra Aguayo, owners of Barquillero, & Celia and Alan Stenfors-Dacre, owners of Ladino, Lativo, and Analena! Thank you for believing in us and giving us the opportunity to train and show your wonderful horses! Thanks also to Domingo Guerra and Ronnie & Carol Marroquin for having us catch handle their great horses!

Celebration was a blast! We had such a great time and met a bunch of great people! What a great experience, we learned a lot. Our horses did well too. Ladino took reserve in the 5 and 6 year old stallion class and first in the driving class. Barquillero took fifth in the 2 year old colt class-not too shabby for a class of 11. Howard also had the pleasure of catch handling Fugitivo XII, of Watchman PRE Horses, owned by Terry Waechter, for the dressage sporthorse class. He won overall Champion Sporthorse! Thanks Terry for the opportunity! Sept. 6, 2010

July 17, 2010
Our first show of the year was a blast! We attended the Utah Dressage Society Shows I and II, June 25 & 26. Two days, two shows, in front of two judges. What a fun way to show dressage. And what a fun group of people! We were very proud of Lativo of Silverstar Ranch. For his first performance show, he handled himself very well. He and Howard were able to score 60s both days, thus qualifying them to ride in the Dressage tests at the IALHA National Show. Thank you to all the people who came out to watch us, and thank you to the Utah Dressage Society for putting on a great show! June 29, 2010
Our first trip to Wyoming was a wonderful success! We accomplished our goals with Celia and Allen, owners of Silver Star Ranch, and had a great time giving lessons to all who wanted to learn. There was quite the group- from reiners to dressage horses, minis to draft crosses, riding and driving- we about did it all! Thank you to all that participated! We loved getting to know you and your horses! Seeing as it went so well, we have been asked to return, which we plan on doing. We will come up with a date and give better advance warning for it next time. If this sounds like something you would like to be a part of, feel free to contact us! May 20, 2010
We are headed to Riverton, Wyoming to put on a riding clinic May 16-18! Thanks to Silverstar Ranch for setting it all up and letting us use their ranch! We look forward to meeting a bunch of new people and having some fun with them and their horses! May 14, 2010

Had a fabulous time at the Utah Horse Expo! Ladino drove beautifully in the meadowbrook and Lativo showed off as a dressage horse!
