For those of you who already have a horse, and who would like to broaden your riding or horsemanship skills, or perhaps you want to learn a new discipline, give us a call. We are happy to work with any level of rider, on any breed of horse...or pony. Learning to be a great horseman takes a lifetime of hard work, and you never know what new thing you may learn! Haul-ins welcome! You do not need to be in training with us. We offer private lessons and group lessons at our property.
We do have a school horse for driving and riding lessons, our gelding Rocky. He is very safe and experienced. If you have ever considered driving, come take Rocky for a spin and see if driving is for you! You will be pleasantly surprised!
We may even be able to drive to your location depending on the distance and the availability in our schedule, but we do charge more due to the additional time taken. We have done lesson days at facilities in Illinois, Wisconsin, and Michigan. Contact us if you would like to be made aware of lesson days in different states.

Sandy, and Coco- the super pony! "I met Howard and Erica in 2015, at my first horse show in 16 years and only my 4th show in my life and having just turned 50 years old. I was green, petrified and eager to improve. Coco was a great, steady pony mare but who liked to do things her way. Over the last 5 years my 21 year old pony, Coco, and I have grown to be very competitive in the sport of Working Equitation. Howard and Erica have provided instruction, encouragement, partnership and joy to my pony and me. I understand so much more about correct riding, horse movement and when it is all said and done enjoying the ride in the show ring due in large part to their guidance. Looking forward to continuing the journey."
Becky and Lena "I met Howard and Erica in 2016 while attending a clinic for Working Equitation. Since this time, I have had the pleasure to work with Howard and Erica in lesson, clinic and show environments. Regardless the setting, I have seen the same consistency in attitude, behavior and approach – whether they are giving a lesson, schooling a horse, lecturing during a clinic or showing… Howard and Erica are positive, fair, hardworking and show great attention to detail. No matter if they are working with their own horse or a client’s horse, they give equal effort and show genuine care towards progress, not perfection. Howard and Erica bring a unique combination of talent and personality that makes learning fun and exciting. In a lesson environment, I have experienced firsthand their dedication towards helping me grow as a rider and becoming a better partner to my horse. They never fail to point out what is going well and what progress has been made to continue to encourage me but also help me reflect on how hard work has paid off. Erica brings a calm and focused approach. Her way with words, along with ability to demonstrate makes the complex easier to understand. She has patience for each rider, no matter their level of riding. Howard brings energy and discipline, making his passion known when there are moments to celebrate while riding. He is flexible to whatever is happening during our lessons and stays positive as well as confident that we will reach our end goal. Howard and Erica bring a wealth of knowledge to their students with varied and broad backgrounds. They have the flexibility to support horses and riders of all experience levels/goals, whether it be starting a young horse, training for the show ring, working through a training challenge or “simply” learning to become a better rider. In 2020, I have been so fortunate to have regular coaching from Howard and Erica and they have truly helped me to reach my goals and grow as a person. I am thrilled to reflect on the progress I have made with Lena and look forward to continued guidance from them in the future.
